Hi everyone,
My sister will be 31 weeks pregnant with twins by the time it is my birthday at the end of this month so we are travelling to Manchester where she lives(from London) for afternoon tea at Cloud 23
My boyfriend has lived in the UK for about 10 years but never gone further north than Watford (seriously!) I am from Yorkshire and have family dotted all around the North so I REALLY want to show case the best of the North to my boyfriend during this trip

Any great suggestions for a weekend in Manchester? As I've mentioned we are going to Afternoon Tea at Cloud 23, also it will be the first time my boyfriend and my brother have met so any good bars to take them too?
BF slightly obsessed with Chinese food too so we are going to wander around china town but we can't eat 24/7 so would love some other suggestions for things to do

Thanks for reading

There's a huge installation of painted bee sculptures dotted around the city at the moment. There's an app you can download to help you tick them off as you find them.

Lots of museums: museum of science and industry, Manchester museum, football museum, the police museum, the people's museum.

The northern quarter has lots of interesting independent shops and bars, as well as restaurants and tea rooms.

King Street and St Ann's square areas are good for the posher shops.

The central library and John rylands library are beautiful old buildings to wander around.

Jonathan Schofield gives some interesting walking tours if you have a particular interest (including a pub tour).

I haven't been out to bars in a while so hopefully someone else can come along and advise on those!

Fab cafe is interesting if he's into sci fi. Lots of props and cheap food and drink too.

Classic pubs include Peveril of the peak.

Dog Bowl is a really cool bowling alley which turns into an adult only venue with bar after 7pm. blackdogballroom.co.uk/dog-bowl/#
Your boyfriend might enjoy Inmotion VR Manchester, the Natoinal Football Musuem, the ManU Museum and Tour or Manchester City FC Experience.
Check out the LomoWall.
You can book behind the scenes tours of the BBC at Salford.
I love Black Milk Cereal Cafe!
