Porto Pollensa - if you are travelling there soon

I am currently in PP. Going home on Saturday. If anyone is going to be staying in the same place soon, please bring plenty of anti mosquito stuff - repellant, plug in thingys and bite cream. I would also bring anti histimine tablets.

I do not usually get bothered by mozzy bites but they have been on a feeding frenzy on me this week. I have clusters of three bites on several places, and they are huge, burning, itching and blooming painful. I think from reading up on them, that they might be tiger mosquitos. They don’t do one bite, they do a few at a time on a certain area.

I have not sat around our pool for the last few days because of it, but I have still ended up with a few more! They are spoiling my holiday which sounds a bit feeble, but I can’t wait to leave now. I am tired of the burning and itching. The middle of the night is purgatory, the itching makes me wake up.

A lot of the shops have sold out of repellants although you can get room sprays and plug ins. I have gone to a pharmacy for some hardcore cream this evening. I am worried about infection (and scarring). I think mozzies are having a moment here so come prepared.

Feeling a bit sorry for myself but did not want to whinge at DH so forgive the self pity and heed my be prepared warning!

Me too me too! We were covered. And as you describe we would get a line of them. We had a villa just out of town and were getting bitten day and night. We put DEET on to sleep and still had them around underwear lines. We gave up sitting outside after the kids went to bed. That helped but left me itchy and miserable

I know, annoying! I am home now and the itching has gone but still loads of red marks. My worse one was on top of foot. I was in a suprmarket buying another plug in thingy and felt an intense pain - not sure that bite was a mozzy but it was really painful, and left a bruise underneath it. That is still very red.

My dreams of moving somewhere hot and sunny have been crushed. Could not be dealing with that everyday! We were in a villa just outside too!

We wondered if there were patches of stagnant water around?! We were on the main road just near where it says El Vila on google maps. We were ok when out for the evening. But when at the Villa we were just destroyed!
