Hotel Florence is absolutely fantastic. Lovely restaurant and all rooms are different, right on the lake. We've been 3 times - last time was about 4 years ago, pre-dcs but can't wait to go again sometime. Have a great time!

we stayed in hotel du lac - it was ok but not amazing - depends what you need/budget i guess

room simple, food good, great view!

Bellagio can be expensive, so we stayed at a nearby town and caught the ferry over.

Actually, we found Bellagio to not be very child friendly - some of the restaurants didn't want us because we weren't dressed up enough and had DS (who was 1 at the time) with us - a change from the usual Italian thing of welcoming children. Never had a problem outside of Bellagio though.

Also a lot of steps - so if you have little DCs take a baby carrier/backpack

Some lovely walks around the nearby towns though.

If money no cost ..the Villa Serbelloni. The apartments are not that nice ( well 4 yrs ago they were not) but hotel nice. Its posh and can be a bit snobby like jacket for dinner type of thing.
Alternative Hotel Belvedere at the top of Bellagio about a 15 min stroll down to the front ( steep not little leg friendly). Lake view rooms are fabbo with great views of the lake and surroudning countryside.
Mennaggio the other side is flattermore buggy friendly
For something small friendly and romantic but at the northern tip of the
lake Villa tres jollie. ( english ital run ) very helpful and great local info. Happy holidays
