What was your best holiday with kids age 10 - 14?

We are growing out of the 'stay in a caravan site with a big playground' stage. Kids are active and need to be kept busy but would hate to go in an activity club so Mark Warner type places no good. Just looking for a few new ideas really!

Cruise to Norway. We kayaked down the fjord, visited glaciers and DS ate 'posh' food.

If you can stretch to it, Vietnam. The Vietnamese are lovely (esp to children) and you get a history lesson wherever you go over there. We spent a fortune on little day/half day tours and they stories they told us! Our kids, (8 and 14 at the time) were listening in silence, fascinated. Lovely beaches (scuba diving and boat trips too) and food to try as well.

Just come back from 2 weeks in Croatia with 13 year old DD and highly recommend. We travelled around from Pula to Dubrovnik. Did historic cities, national parks and lakes, kayaking, snorkling, paddle boarding, canyoning plus lots of lounging on gorgeous beaches. Will be going back next year. Highly recommend a base at Split/Podstrana/Omis. Activities on Cetina river and/or trips to islands such as Brac. You can do package activity holidays but we did AirBNB and booked direct on to day activities so massively reduced costs. Highly recommend as something for everyone. Great food and lovely people. Very green country with lots of forest and amazing clear sea. They have bears and wolves!!! Not cheap but not expensive either. Cost of food and dining out similar to UK.

Cruise to Norway was probably my favourite too. Also really enjoyed Lakes and Mountains type holidays in Austria and Italy etc.

Transatlantic cruise to Florida followed by five days at Disney and Universal.

Best holiday ever (but expensive, so won’t be able to do it again for a few years) was Miami, cruise, Florida Keys and New York. Kids aged 12, 15, 16 loved it.
