Right ladies. Expert opinions needed here. We want to go somewhere totally different next year - have done Spain, Canaries, Majorca etc, we are going to Tunisia in October. Fancy somewhere really different next year, there'll be me, dh, 14 yr old, 11 yr old, 9 yr old & 3 1/2 year old - am torn between going to Turkey or being really brave & daring and going to Sharm El Sheikh. Honest opinions needed please.

Hi KathH, never been to Sharm El Sheikh but went to Turkey about two years ago - no children though but they would have loved it. (My ankle biters have all grown up now) We went to Olu Deniz and loved every minute of it. The Turks are lovely people, very friendly, love children. Don't know if you want to stay is a swanky hotel but we stayed in The Asena Village and it was fabulous. Been on the web and this is what they say about it

'Asena Village Hotel is a popular choice as many guests prefer to visit the hotel more than once. It is located in the resort of Hisaronu, which is situated on a high plateau 4 km from the coast and surrounded by stunning mountains, the once sleepy villages of Hisaronu and Ovacik have combined to create a lively resort which has a distinctly British atmosphere. The nearest beaches are the famous lagoon of Oludeniz or the pebble and sand beach of Belcekiz. A dolmus leaves every five or ten minutes from the centre of Hisaronu, which is just a few minutes walk away.'

The food in the evening was absolutely fabulous and although we went out some nights, it was very cheap although the wine was a bit more expensive!!

Hope you enjoy wherever you decide to go. DH has just booked for us to go to Dubai for a week and they in August we are off to Maderia. Never been before but the world is full of places I haven't been and I want to try them all!!!!

That's funny, because before I read the end I was going to suggest Egypt and Turkey!

Have been to Sharm with 13 and 10yr old. they loved the snorkeling!

Have booked Lykia World in Turkey for next year and it seems really good for little ones right up to late teens! I don't actually think we are going to see much of them as there is so much for them to do!
