DH and I and dd (11mths) only have opportunity for 5 day break in summer. Heard Sardinia was nice. Has anyone been? Is it child friendly? Can anyone recommend anywhere? What are prices like once you get there?

we went to baia sardinia in early sept and it was wonderfull. kids (9 and 5) both loved it. lovely clean beaches and everywhere is so child friendly. i would avoid august if possible as this is when it fills up with italian tourists so its really busy everywhere (and incredibly hot)i would really recommend it to anyone with kids

All of italy generally child friendly I think but I don't have dcs so I don't know how child friendly iykwim.

Sardinia isn't too far flights wise but we found it to be very expensive for what it was and spent as much on a 5 day break as we would normally have done on a 10 day hol I'd say.

But then mini-breaks always work out to be quite expensive don't they?

Lovely countryside and nice beaches.

Thats given me some food for thought. Pink martini-did you find it expensive once you were there?

Yes, it was when we there that it was pricy - cab fares seemed more expensive than London and restaurants and bars seemed to be dear too.
I'm sure it's possible to do it cheaply but it just proved to be quite an expensive week.
We were in the North of the island and stayed here which was nice but it wasn't AMAZING iykwim.
