So we've just got back from our family holiday ( 5* All inclusive Resort ) this was my first time doing this sort of holiday previously doing Orlando Florida 4 times!! don't get me wrong the place was lovely, very clean, great food, excellent entertainment everything you could ask for. We ventured off site a couple of times once for a boat trip and once to the local town, other than that we stayed put, after spending the best part of 5K for our family of 5 for a week I felt like we had to get our moneys worth. After getting home I couldn't help feeling slightly deflated althou the break was lovely I feel like I've been to a sunny Butlins with better entertainment and food ( I worked holiday camps as a teenager so I know them inside out ) so now I'm thinking cruise ? All inclusive entertainment for the kids and ports for me to get my culture kick ? Any advice on cruises are they worth the money ? We have 7year old twins and a teenager to please, a husband who is happy sitting by a pool with all inclusive cocktails and me desperate to discover new things x

If you like the all-inclusive style, choose a cruise line such as NCL, especially the larger ships. They include most drinks, meals, service charges, WiFi etc.

A few things aren’t included ( speciality restaurants, games such as bingo, excursions, drinks over $15) but you can quite easily avoid any extra charges without feeling you’ve missed out.

There’s tons to do on board, such as pools (small !), water slides, rock climbing, sports courts, bowling (extra charge!), trampolines - Some ships have rope courses, mini golf etc. Plus kids clubs for all ages.
Plus you get a different port each day.

We love cruises!

Just another vote for NCL: we went on our first cruise with them and were hooked, they really are brilliant and getting to see so many places is an added bonus.

There are loads of activities for kids/teens: and it’s probab one of the few places left in this world that people aren’t attached to their mobile phones!
