Has anyone done it? Would you recommend? My DDs are 5&8.

Christmas is my favourite time to go and I have been several times at Christmas! I've also been once during the summer but I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I felt that there wasn't a real 'joyful' atmosphere during the summer which I felt at Christmas. The Christmas shows and parades and costumes are fab. The decorations and fake snow as well as all the Christmassy gifts in the shops made me feel more immersed in the park as it felt less commercialised.

Ooh that was just the answer I wanted to hear! Need to work on persuading DH though. Was looking at the Santa Fe hotel, have you stayed there?

Also, is everything open on Christmas Day?

Pretty much everything except malls, department stores and government is open on Christmas here.

Just a bump for the morning crowd. Any more experiences of Disney at Xmas? DH still needs persuading!

We stayed at the Sequoia each time which was lovely because it feels like a huge log cabin! The rooms aren't that special to be honest but the downstairs area is so cosy when it's got all the lights and decorations up. The short walk every day to and from the hotel was also lovely round the lake.

I spent Christmas Day at Disneyland a couple of years back (HK not Paris). It was magic. We had a fab day and it was a special Christmas. If you are happy to forgo the usual Christmas Day Turkey dinner and Queen’s speech stuff for one year it’s a great day. We don’t have kids but I’m sure they would make it even more special. There was a lovely atmosphere in the park.
