Algarve Advice!

For next April/May... We are planning 2-3 nights in Seville then driving to Algarve (so needs to be Spanish side really) for a few nights.

Looking for villa with pool or nice hotel with pool with right family room offer (3dc, hotels tend to hate us). Not rural/isolated but not too touristy either. On the coast preferably.

Villamoura or Tavira seems to be the conclusion from my research so far but I have never been to Portugal/know nothing! Which of these would be 'better'

Albufeira looked a bit too touristy from google obsessing.. am I right?

Anyone got any algarve knowledge they would be willing to share..?

TIA!

My favourite resort is Alvor though possibly too far for your plans. Olhos D'Agua is quiet and has a lovely beach.
April / May won't be that hot in the Algarve. Probably not pool weather.

Google is saying 20 for Faro in April.

Maybe we should just visit Marbella instead, I was hoping to be a bit more 'adventurous' (for want of a better word) than that! I have already looked into and discarded Cadiz.

Unless maybe its just a Seville city break in April and something else in May - that does add more transport € though.

We went to Tavira 15 years ago and it was beautiful. Authentic, quiet, up market but not flashy like Villamoura.

You could stay in Spain, look at Ayamonte/Isla Canela area

Love Lagos, but of a relaxed surfing, hippy vibe...if that is your thing!

Thanks all, will look all those up!
