Unique things to do in USA

We are planning an October break in Orlando and have a few extra days to visit another city/state. I have been to the US several times, but it's DS8's first trip there. I was wondering what experiences you would recommend for an 8 yr old that you couldn't do in the UK? For me, it's outlet mall shopping and pancakes at IHOP!

None of us are big fans of city sightseeing.

Everglades
Kennedy
Dali Museum in St Petersburg as the size of the paintings is amazing

Thanks - Kennedy sounds like something he would want to see.

The Florida Keys are amazing. Chilling out stuff but you can do kayaking etc too.

I second Kennedy - spend a whole day there & do the tour - you get to go in a space shuttle too Smile

Keys are lovely but quite a drive from Orlando, anywhere on the gulf coast is lovely. I've heard good things about Annamaria Island, you can do kayaking on the inland waterways and see manatees in their natural environment which sounds awesome.

Kennedy is a must.
Also St Augusta is a beautiful seaside town near Kennedy. Coco beach is amazing as well.

Shark Valley in Everglades - cycling alongside alligators sunning themselves. Also try eating alligator and frog (went down surprisingly well with my two).

Kennedy space centre

Swimming with the Manatees (though think is not right season now)

Key West - buskers at sunset at Mallory Park - my 8 year old became part of the show!

This is also good. My two boys loved it.

Air boat on the Everglades and Kennedy Space Centre. If you like IHOP Dennys and Cheesecake Factory might be up your street

Thanks all! Looks like Kennedy and Everglades and beach/swimming activities come recommended.

We do have almost a week available, so could fly to anywhere on the East Coast. We could do Atlanta or NY (not Manhattan) or Nashville for example.

DS wants to do "American parkour" and adventure activities as he's a big fan of Dude Perfect. Anything like that on the East Coast?
