Marwell is very nice (although pricy!) I took the DCs there a couple of weekends ago and they really enjoyed it. Its a good long day out and there are a couple of very nice play areas as well as all the animals.

He only has a few hours unfortunately and Marwell is great but just too expensive. We really need a country park type thing that has lots to do but doesn't cost the earth but Moors valley is such a long trek.do you know of any more local or similar?

There is Farleigh Mount, which isn't that far outside Winchester. I used to go there kite flying and I think there are picnic tables and the like (this was...oooh...about 33 years ago, so of course it could all be a huge housing estate by now!

Stockbridge Downs? (Ditto!)

the Abbey Gardens is nice, has good playground but in the city

Where is the abbe gardens PPP?

We used to go to Farley mount when they were small but it is dog poo city and really disgusting
