Flying as a single parent

I flew longhaul alone with my three children a couple of days ago. We didn't take anything, we do all have the same surname though.

I would carry birth certificate just in case but I've never had to use anything but passport

Anyone been to Mauritius. It’s been mentioned that exs passport copy may be needed.
