First solo holiday with toddler

Long-time MN lurker, first time posting. DH and I have a nearly-two-year-old and DH doesn't fly so we've done UK holidays so far plus no-fly cruises, but can't stretch to the latter this year.

I want to take DS on an overseas holiday for 3 or 4 nights in Sept/Oct and would welcome some recommendations for resorts that would work for us as a solo-adult with a toddler; specifically somewhere that I'll feel really safe being 'on my own' so to speak - not just the country but the complex too.

It needs to be no more than a four hour flight (from London), not too far from the airport for transfer, very near a good beach, a safe and family-friendly complex and not too crazy/loud of an evening. Not asking for too much, am I?!

Would love to hear your specific recommendations please.

I've found that a lot of kids' clubs run until the end of September, so if that's something you're after, don't wait until October.
Several Thomas Cook hotels have a free kids club for children 3+
Grande Real Santa Eulalia in Portugal is about 30 minutes from Faro airport and has a kids club (starting at 3yo), a playground and an indoor play area supervised by hotel staff. It has a spa, gym and direct beach access. The restaurant has highchairs, a kids menu and kids buffet. You can choose your board. It's very Portuguese and laid back.

I don't think the OP wants a kids club - her child isn't 2 yet! I'd go for Menorca. Binibeca is near the airport, nice been and v family friendly. 2 hours flight time from Gatwick.

Check the weather tho - some places won't be that warm then.

I'm about to head off to Bali with my 17 month old on my own, 15 hour flight - what was I thinking I'm sure we'll have a great time! Enjoy wherever you choose :)

Look at the holiday village in Belamadema in Spain, there is a small water park attached. We booked hotel separate and stayed in the Polynesia which was fab.
