Trip to Barcelona sightseeing & MotoGP, then a stay on the Costa Dorada. But where?

Good morning 🙂

Next year, we are planning a twin centre holiday of sorts.
We plan to go sightseeing in Barcelona with friends for a couple of days, followed by the MotoGP races.
Then after this, dh and I plan to stay somewhere near Barcelona for a week, on the coast, about an hours drive, maybe 2 hours at a push.
We have been looking at the Costa Dorada coast map to work out where best to go.
We’ve been to Taragona, so that’s out, but I can’t see anywhere else near apart from Sitges. Is Sitges ok?
Can anybody recommend anywhere else ifSitges not ok?

Cambrils is a very sweet town. Nice beaches and better restaurants than most of the other Costa Dorada resorts.

Eek, Costa Brava, not Costa Dorada.
Won’t even get to Barcelona at that rate....

Cambrils sounds nice though, maybe look there the year after xxx
