Hi, we’re off to Olu Deniz next year, 2 weeks AI.
Just wondering what trips/excursions anyone has been on that they’d recommend?
Last time we went we did a sunset boat trip thing, which was a bit boring to be honest. There wasn’t really entertainment as such, or any real point to the trip. I know that sound negative, but it really wasn’t great.

We’re not really the types for the booze cruise trips. Open to most other things though Smile

Roughly half an hour’s drive, Fethiye hosts a busy bazaar every Tuesday (May to October) where you’ll find everything from traditional Turkish kilim and local honey, to jewellery and handmade arts and crafts.
Take a boat trip or water taxi to Butterfly Valley for the day.

You could do avisit to Kayakoy. It is one of the 'ghost towns', whose population was moved out in the Turkish/Greek population exchanges in the 1920s. It's a piece of history little known here and really a rather moving place.

I must admit that when we were there we did struggle a bit to find much to do off-site without travelling miles and miles.
Although we love the hotels/coast (and price) etc in Turkey, we do seem to find there is generally less to see than a lot of other Mediterranean resorts.

It you do a google search for Animals Excursions he does a whole range of day trips which are all fantastic. The Wet & Wild is our favourite, you will visit Yakapark ( a beautiful trout farm/ cafe ) then onto Saklikent gorge where you can do water rafting..google images of both places, both beautiful. There are lots of family run boats that leave Olu Deniz every day, a full day sailing around coves with a lovely lunch included for £10, our favourite is Tommy Ozturk. There are several water parks around the area, the Blue Lagoon where we have seen turtles swimming so near to us, paragliding off Babadag mountain ( for adults & older kids) go-karting, the upside-down house in Fethiye. There are several FB
Groups dedicated to the area, if you join one you will soon find there is loads to do in the area

Surely the point of a sunset boat trip is to watch the sunset and enjoy the view. Anyway there's not a lot to do around Olu Deniz. Two weeks there is a long time.

Sorry I wasn’t There was meant to be entertainment and a hot buffet. The entertainment never materialised and the buffet was a bit rubbish. The actual sunset was beautiful.

Thanks for suggestions
