Maldives - any recommendations?

Anyone recommend any particular resorts? Big anniversary next year and I've been given the green light to book but they all look amazing!!!

I'd really welcome any experience - good or bad!!

I would look at these islands and they are very nice but prices not stratospheric.

Vilamendhoo (they have an adult only area)
Sun aqua vilu reef.
Olhuveli
Kuramathi
Reethi beach

If all of these come out well over budget you probably need to think about upping your spend a bit or reduce the days.

We've just booked Maafushivaru for February (so I can give you our impressions yet). Friends who have been loved it. We've opted for a beach villa as the over water villas have less space. Flights with Etihad were not expensive.

Just wanted to update - got back from Kanifushi after the most amazing 2 weeks - it honestly feels like a dream! Ended up taking our2 girls as I felt bad leaving them and it was the best decision - we had the best holiday ever!!
Downsides - the journey was a killer - the seaplane really does add a chunk on to the travelling but it was so worth it!!
I honestly wouldn't change a thing - if anyone is thinking about it I can not recommend it enough!!!
I am now looking at all the others for when I can go adult only!!!!
