Hi wanting to take the kids away for a few days to a week. Done haven holidays but the eldest 8yrs is getting a bit bored.

Need to be accessible by train. Happy for glamping or hotel or lodge or anything different than just the northwest of UK.

Will look at lakes and Wales or even further south. north or east.

Need a pool or on-site fun.

My main issue is not being able to drive and bags and 2 kids 6 and 8yrs.

Anything outside of the usual will also be great. Don't think I could manage London. My son worries in crowds.

Thank u

This holiday park www.flowerofmay.com/yorkshire-holiday-parks/goosewood-holiday-park-near-york/ is 8 miles north of York (which takes just 1hr 15mins on direct train from Manchester). I'd suggest getting a taxi from the station to the park when you have all your bags with you, but after that you can use this bus to get to and from York. getdown.org.uk/bus/search/sutton-on-the-forest.shtml
If your son can manage it, I'd definitely recommend a trip to York for the Viking museum, chocolate museum and railway museum.
