Renting direct to owners : alternatives to AirBnB?

Now that AirBnB seems to have been taken over by travel agents and villa rental companies is there any other easy way to find properties abroad to rent direct from the owners? Or find those on AirBnB who are letting out a single property they own?

I live in the med and some of our clients rent out their villas.

They tend to use Owners Direct, Holiday Lettings. Com or Booking. Com.

If I was looking, I'd search these sites as well as air b&b.

I didn't think OwnersDirect existed anymore, thought it was all homeaway now?

It has been taken over, and Holidaylettings is owned by trip advisor. I think there’s one called simply owners which might be what you’re looking for, or our area has Facebook pages for rental properties

Yes I noticed people here using fb groups too although none of our clients do.

Hi soulrider, my and my family have booked a few holidays over the past few years using using www.rent-in-france.co.uk

We just got fed up of paying hidden charges and extra booking fees and wanted somthing much simpler. They´ve got properties all over France and you can contact the owners directly. Might be worth a shot!

I use tripadvisor holiday lettings then contact them direct.
