Car seats on Ryanair flight

I'm flying for the first time with my DC's (6 & 4) next month.
A friend recently told me that you can take car seats on a flight for no extra charge (even with Ryanair) and additional to the baggage allowance.
Can anyone direct me to the place on the Ryanair website where it says that please?
I really don't want to get to the airport to be told, "sorry, you can't bring that", but nor do I want to risk not getting two car seats with the hire car...
Advice gratefully received, thanks!

I cant link because I'm useless, but if you google "Ryanair infant baggage allowance" it then gives an option for "Can I bring infant equipment". The answer is yes, 2 pieces.

Btw I've never had problems bringing equipment, but they did break my buggy, so if you have a brand new Bugaboo don't bring that!

you cant take the car seat on rhe actual plane where you sit. It goes in the hold to be bashed about. if you can get it shrink wrapped at the airport

Thanks for your responses!
I wonder if my children are infants or if they're a bit too old (6 & 4)...?
My friend said that he'd seen other parents with car seats in black bin liners - I suppose there's a requirement for them to go in a bag in the hold.
I'll do a bit of googling...
Thanks again!
