Finally managed to book our Disney trip for next August. We are staying on site and primarily want to spend our time at the Disney parks. However, the kids are Harry Potter fans so also considering a day at Universal. Looking on the official Universal site, can get a 1 day park to park ticket which doesn't appear to be available on any UK sites. Has anyone booked direct from Universal? Thanks

Yes, I've done that before without any problems. They Fedex'd the tickets to me. Obviously you need to pay in dollars. I'd recommend getting the Universal Express fastpass too, unless you are going right at the end of August, or you won't have time to do both parks.

I've also bought one day tickets direct from the US Disney site as well, but that is more difficult, the site kept flipping back to the UK one and I had to private browse I think.

Thanks, I'll have another look at it.

One day tickets??? You must be mad...it piles too much pressure to try and do everything in a short amount of time. Queues for Harry Potter rides can generally be upwards of 3 hours, and then the other rides on top.
Have you looked at the deals on two week tickets as you can then go as many times as you want, picking and choosing the best times eg first thing in the morning for HP and then later another day for Islands of Adventure.
This is how we do the parks, either morning or afternoons over the two weeks and then shopping, resting or water parks the rest of the time.
Our two week Disney passes were brilliant as we would do Magic Kingdom in the morning then drive round to Typhoon Lagoon for the afternoon.
Don't forget it will be intensely hot and humid, so you should try to take things a bit easier to get the best out of it.
I have found Floridatix in this country to have some very good deals on all types of tickets including the one day ones.

If your DC's want to ride the HP train then you need the 2 park ticket. Try Undercover Tourist for tickets but for the price for 1/2 days you would be better with the 14 day tickets.
