Just looking for somewhere to stay that's convenient getting around, close to good spots - to be honest not sure where we are headed when we get there -

any tips on where to go and what to see with a toddler?

wheres the best area to stay or is it one of those cities where everything is easy to get to?

thanks

The Scandic chain of hotels is brilliant with kids. www.scandichotels.com/always-at-scandic/family-friendly There are a few in Stockholm. We stayed at Scandic Anglai and I'd recommend it www.scandichotels.com/hotels/sweden/stockholm/scandic-anglais
Junibacken - A museum designed for children based upon the world of Pippi Longstocking
Toy museum
National museum of science and technology
Grona lund amusement park
Skansen Open air village - animals to pet, crafts etc..
Viking ship museum
Butterfly house - rainforest environment with birds, butterflies and an aquarium.
Botanical garden
Polkapojkarna - an old fashioned sweet shop where you can see the sweets being made.

2nd the Viking ship museum & gronalund. Stockholm is a series of small islands & is nice just to wander & doesn’t feel particularly busy. We did a boat trip which went round the islands which was pretty (but bloody cold!). We stayed at the Hilton - bit more than I’d usually pay but it was the DH’s birthday. It’s really well situated just opposite Gamla Stan (the old town) & was in Girl with a dragon tattoo. The breakfast buffet was enormous so we stuffed ourselves at a late breakfast & avoided having lunch out! I’m sure you know this anyway but like all Scandi countries, expect to pay more when you eat out. It’s not cheap to visit but it’s a great city - have fun!

You also have to see the Vasa museum - what an amazing experience. I stayed in the Radisson blue near the train station the first time I went and then a boutique hotel the second and third time in gamla Stan; expensive but lovely! Enjoy. I love Stockholm 😍
