Family holiday help

Hello
I'm being super organised and trying to plan our 2019 summer holiday as it will be the first year we have to go in the school holidays. We have a ds aged 5 with lots of energy. On our holiday this year he loved the kids club, mini disco and making friends by the pool so we would definitely need a hotel with a kids club. I just like a good pool and beach in a family friendly resort so I'm pretty easy to please but my dp isn't much of a beach or relaxing type so he likes somewhere with culture that he can go off and explore at times. So here's the question....What resorts would be suitable??? I've been thinking maybe somewhere like rhodes town that has the balance of beach and culture? All ideas are welcome
Thanks Smile

Cascais is an old fishing town just outside of Lisbon in Portugal and it is a perfect mixture of culture and beach. There is lots to see and do in all directions and it's only 25 minutes on the train to Lisbon city centre. Martinhal Cascais is the most amazing resort for families.
