Hi
We;re looking to go away for a week in September. I don't normally do much short haul as I always get into the same dilemma in that the places I gravitate to are always expensive which isn't a problem but we (well more him) are reluctant to spend £££££££ on a short week away. our main holiday is barbados and a cruise over christmas and new year.
wondering if anyone has any ideas of somewhere that will fit the following:
- Has to be still warm and still "open". We did corfu a few a years ago and everything was starting to close down. If we'd gone a week later there would have been tumble weed.
- Suitable for adults - we don't mind some children but avoid family friendly places
- Can be all inclusive or not - budget for all in is about £700 each including flights. If its AI then I'm more fussy about the hotel - if its not then I can be a bit more flexible. I'd lean towards AI and if someone has a brilliant recommendation I'm sure I can convince DH its worth the extra £££ but I think £1000 each would be as far as we'd go.
- NEAR a beach - this is important. Don't mind a bit of a walk but must be easily accessible.
I've short listed fuerta vetura out fo the canaries as you seem to get more for you money.
Turkey keeps coming up but I'm VV nervous about turkey for some reason. Not scared of it - I've travelled all over the world on my own - but more concerned we'll end up with a grubby hell hole of a hotel. I know its unfounded but I wouldnt go turkey unless it was recomended by someone.
I'd also consider Egypt but not Tunisia (DH has been and hated it) or Morocco (too close to Tunisia).
Balearic islands and Greek islands also on the table but concerned about how open they'd be. Shagaluf and Ibiza are definite no no or anywhere similar!
If anyone has anywhere they've been or could recommend I would appreciate it.
