Nice hotel in Dublin for 21st birthday?

DD’s boyfriend is looking to take her to Dublin for a long weekend for her 21st birthday. He’s been looking at air b n b’s and was planning to book one for the 3 nights they are there, but I’ve told him if I find somewhere nice I’ll book them into a nice hotel for their first night as a little treat.

I’ve had a quick look and seen a couple of nice ones but wondered if anyone has any personal recommendations? Somewhere central preferably, it doesn’t have to be mega fancy but just a bit nicer than your standard holiday inn! Budget is £200 max but anything less would be ideal!

Also if anyone has any tips for him to make it a special weekend I’m sure he would appreciate it! Thanks.

When are they thinking of going? Hotels in Dublin are eyewatering expensive during July, August and September for not great rooms/hotels. Will they have a car?

Dublin is really expensive, I'd check Groupon etc for a good deal. If the budget stretches, the Dylan is a lovely boutique hotel.

Sorry forgot to say they are going the first weekend of December so 30th-3rd. I’ll have a look at the Dylan and groupon thanks.
They aren’t going to have a car which is why central or near transport links is best.

I like the Gibson but it may not be everyone's taste and also given it will be peak Christmas shopping time it could be over budget. Friends have stayed in Jurys Inn and were very happy with it. Hilton Gardens is ok but not really special.

the Clarence hotel is v cool and central - not sure how much it would cost though at that time of year...

we were there in the summer years ago for our 10th wedding anniversary and it wasn't cheap, but not extortionate either

Depends on your budget but the Mespil is nice, and in a good central location

We went to Dublin in April for my Birthday we stayed in The Westbury (expensive).
I've also stayed in jury's inn(Christchurch) several times.
I love Dublin hope they enjoy themselves.
