In Marrakech?

We went 3 years ago with my parents & DR then age 6. Marrakech was interesting, lively & colourful but it's probably the least child friendly place we've been. The streets are narrow, often with no pavements & we spent a lot of time dodging mopeds, donkey carts & getting completely lost in extreme heat. Maps are pretty useless, after day one we took taxi's everywhere but I think there is a down loadable app you can use - ask shopkeepers for directions as well otherwise you get can get stalked by would be guides expecting money. Having said that, I wouldn't say don't go! We stayed in a beautiful Riad in the Medina for 3 nights & then hhac 5 nights at an AI place ( the Eden Andalou) on the outskirts. With kids & for a weekend, a hotel in the outskirts with a bus/tour in with kids is probably going to be the easiest in this and city but if you want to do the authentic thing & stay central in a Riad then I'd really recommend booking a local guide & pacing yourself. I'm not a fan of either AI or guided Tours but in Marrakech they worked best for us! May not be obvious from the above but I (but not the DH) liked the place!
