Cheapest way to get from Mykonos to Rome?

I’ve had my long planned out travel plans to get from Mykonos to Rome cancelled.

I need to be in Rome for the 20th of August. My work will pay for a flight from the UK to Rome on the 20th but will not in regard to my pre- existing holiday.

So I can either fly back to the UK which seems very expensive or fly straight to Rome. I live near an airport and have good travel links at home.

My hotel in Mykonos is booked until the 19th, but I don’t mind doing an all nighter say at Athens airport if it’s cheap.

Does anyone know the cheapest way?
