Hickory Dickory's Playhouse Kings Heath Birmingham

Hickory Dickory's Playhouse in Kings Heath Birmingham is a good place to take your child as it has got some good play equipment. However, the prices have gone up recently! Moreover, we went yesterday - Saturday - to find the seating areas were a real tip! They just don't have enough staff on and those who are on seem to lurk behind the reception area. There wasn't a single table I could find which wasnt covered in dirty plates and bits of food. It was so unhygenic and unpleasant - yet when I told the receptionist she just went back to what she was doing, which seemed to be chatting with the other staff in the office. Considering that they have increased the prices you would at least have thought that they would have someone employed with the task of cleaning up. It doesnt really take much to have someone going round with a bin and a cloth. Unbelievable considering it cost £5 to get in. I also think that they should monitor the toddlers area as children were again diving into the ball play area which was a danger. The problem must be with the management there, as they are happy to take your money going in, but then cannot be bothered to keep high standards in the playhouse.

Went back today to Hickory Dickory's playhouse and there were still 4 tables with dirty plates and cups lying around with staff walking past them paying not a blind bit of notice!

It is still the dirtiest place I have been to! They just don't bother to clean up the tables when people have finished eating!

AnonyDad, I got the giggles reading your posts, it sounds as though they haven't cleaned the tables at all since the 27th May! That would be unhygenic and unpleasant! I haven't been for a few weeks but Hickory Dickory is much nicer than Jitterbugs in Blackheath...don't go there if you want clean tables and toddler-only toddler areas!
