Does anyone know how long it would take to travel by taxi from Bel Ombre in the South to Port Louis and to the North side of the island?

About an hour
It's not a very big island and the roads are generally good

Brilliant thanks, I'm looking at a map trying to make a rough plan for our trip but as I don't drive it's hard to judge journey times.

Around 1.5hrs, although traffic around Port Louis can be a nightmare so delays aren’t unusual. We hired a car when we went, cheaper than taxis and gave us freedom to explore. We used Maki Car rental and I’d use again. Have fun!

Like others have said, allow an hour and a half.

What journey are you planning for? (Nosy)!

Where are you staying in Bel Ombré? We honeymooned in south of island! 😩 I loved it!!!!

We loved the lux le morne in the south. Also lakaz chamerel which is in the south but up in the hills. The south won our hearts, gorgeous dramatic scenery. North is pretty but not as wow.

@basicusername we would like to visit Port Louis for definite and then will see what looks good whilst we are there.
