The Lot Valley in France - weather/things to do

We're thinking of going to the Lot, near Cahors, in August.

Worried about 1) the weather and 2) if there's enough to do to keep the kids busy.

V grateful if anyone can help with info about the area!

Merci!

What's worrying you about the weather? It's just like England during a heatwave. It's not humid, and there's often a decent breeze.
Cap Nature is a tree top high ropes course just like Go Ape. There are different levels of challenges for all abilities and the higher levels feature some quite tricky elements and lots of zip wires! Children as young as 2 can participate. You can have as many goes as you like for the fixed price. There's a cafe and picnic area and canoes are also available to hire from the site.
The DC might enjoy the Padirac Cave (Gouffre de Padirac). Lots of steps to climb but the underground boat tour is worth it.
The steam train between Martel and Saint Denis is a good little trip. Amazing views. Martel also has a small but excellent reptile park (Reptiland) with crocodiles, lizards, snakes, tortoises etc...

I read somewhere it could rain a lot. But that reassures me and thank you SO MUCH for all those suggestions of things to do - really helpful, much appreciated!

Merci!
