Holiday village booked and now been dropped by £1000!

Booked holiday village Majorca for third week and September. Booked it about 7/8 months ago. I don’t know why but I decided to price check it yesterday and it is £1000 cheaper now than when I booked! Absolutely gutted. We are paying 3200 for one week and now it is 2200. We are going with brother in law and he booked everything. We have paid the balance now but literally had to put the last £1000 on an interest free credit card as various things have happened over the ,ast few months so been a bit tight. Quietly seething. How can TUI justify this?

Unfortunately its supply and demand. If they havent got enough bookings they lower the price. All holiday companies do it, have you paid the full balance? Or just deposits? Could be cheaper to rebook maybe and lose deposits

As others have said it is supply and demand. However, you could ask them if there is anything you can do. Could you cancel and rebook. You’d probably lose the deposit but gain the £1000 saving. Worth asking.

There are 4 in our family and we paid 800 in deposits. Lesson definitely learned. I’m looking at holidays leaving this week and are great prices. In Scotland so our schools break up this week.
Next time I think I’ll try for a last minute deal!

You win some you loose some. It’s why I’d never look after I booked. You’ve got peace of mind of booking early. I’m sure you’d have not posted if it had gone up by a grand.

But you havn’t just paid for the cottage, uuu have paid for the cottage and 7-8 months of peace of mind that you hace a holiday booked. Last minute can come up with some great bargains... or nothing.

That's a doozy OP. But You’ve got peace of mind of booking early. That's what you're paying for.

No different to buying a nice dress then finding it in the sales. Or buying a car only for it to be put on special offer a month later.

I'm going there next May/June, I've been before and LOVE it! Especially the water park. We are booked into the holiday palace not the Polynesia where we have stayed before as the Hill is a killer (though there is a shuttle bus) I paid £1900 for one adult and two kids (single parent joy no free child place) and that was with jet 2 holidays. I'm quite surprised they have dropped it by that much, bit of a piss take but that's how they do it. I hate tui with a passion. X

Always remember being asked at a Waterpark by the family next to us after we’d been taking a while how much our holiday was. Not sure he was too happy when are whole two weeks cost less than their flights.
