Other than portaventura is there any other hotel with a waterpark and theme park nearby?
Any recommendations?

Wow thanks for the link I have never really thought of a Berlin as a water park holiday place but definitely going to keep this in mind

Duinrell in Holland: not a hotel though: campsite (eaurocamp type) and chalets. Staying on site includes unlimited access to theme park and a few hours each day at waterpark. It is lovely.

GahWhatever · 26/06/2018 14:28

Eurocamp type, no idea where the additional a came from!

Therma Catez in Slovenia.

Or obviously there are shed loads in America, depends what you're looking for!

Strax · 26/06/2018 16:39

I saw one advertised last week, near Barcelona. I think I saved the link somewhere, I'll have a look...

weebarra · 26/06/2018 16:39

Second Duinrell. We're going for the second year on Thursday, can't wait.

Strax · 26/06/2018 16:40

Ahhhhh, that IS portaventura! 😆 never mind!

AngelsWithSilverWings · 26/06/2018 16:51

Duinrell is fab. We've been twice now and the kids love it. So chilled out and yet lots of fun.

MrsW85 · 26/06/2018 17:08

Is it for adults and children or adults only? If so how old are the children? We have just come back from albuferia. There is about 4 water parks in the area and zoomarine theme park. My boys are 7 and 3 and they loved it

OompaLump · 26/06/2018 17:20

Thanks for all the recommendations busy going through them now.
For people who recommended Duinrell did you fly to Amsterdam and then how did you get to the camp site ? Drive as I wouldn't feel comfortable driving abroad

Lake Garda in Italy has Gardaland Movieland and Caneva Waterpark

DaffoDeffo · 26/06/2018 17:27

Tenerife has a great water park. We didn't go to the theme park so not sure how good that is. We had a great holiday there that the kids still rave about.

catinasplashofsunshine · 26/06/2018 17:35

Oh we've been to the one on lake Garda - it's very, very good. It's not a hotel with water park though. It's an enormous water park. There are plenty of local hotels and camp sites and self catering accommodation, but I don't think it has its own.

weebarra · 26/06/2018 20:29

Duinrell, we got the ferry from Newcastle and drove. Easy bus from Amsterdam though.

somewhereovertherain · 26/06/2018 22:20

Cedar point In Ohio. Awesome.

GahWhatever · 27/06/2018 07:37

Duinrell: get the ferry from Harwich to Rotterdam and taxi to the railway station. Duinrell is a 1 min walk from Den Haag Centraal station. (about 20 mins on train and they go every 30 mins)

AngelsWithSilverWings · 27/06/2018 08:04

To get to Duinrell from Amsterdam there is a train that goes to Leiden and then a bus that takes you into the centre of Wassenaar. It's then a 5 min walk from the bus stop , through the town and to the park entrance. Wassenaar is a lovely little town ( with a fantastic ice cream parlour!) You can hire bikes at the park and cycle to the beach.

A taxi from Leiden would be easier with luggage.

TheSconeOfStone · 29/06/2018 18:49

I worked at Cedar Point one summer as a student. Great fun. Nothing else around fur s holiday though. Duinrell is great and you can do efteling as day trip or add on for a couple of night.

jessicalake · 30/06/2018 18:14

Depends on flight time.
We went to Abu Dhabi last year, theres a waterpark (Yas WaterWorld) and theme park (Ferrari World) both were amazing kids loved them but no so much to do other than that.
Dubai has amazing water parks but not sure about theme parks.

Maybe First Choice Holiday Villages? Or SplashWorlds. We've never been but heard they are good :)

jessicalake · 30/06/2018 18:14

Or even Florida?
California?

Gardaland has a really good hotel with themed kids room, etc. Just google Gardaland hotel.
OP - You could do Gardaland easily without driving but anywhere in USA would be limiting without a hire car.

BarbaraofSevillle · 01/07/2018 08:29

Second the Tenerife/Siam Park recommendation. I think the waterpark is the biggest in Europe. Some local hotels include waterpark entry in the price. There's also a free bus that goes round local resorts to take you there.

Jet2holidays at least do packages with 'waterpark included' as a search option so that could be a good place to look.

Frogletmamma · 01/07/2018 08:33

I'm guessing you don't do Disney!
