Thinking about 2019, has to be school holidays. Has anyone stayed in a water park resort? Kids will be 8 and 5. One confident swimmer. 2 adults. Is there enough to do for 2 weeks? Not sure what the weather is like - options are Easter, May half term or 6 week summer hols.

Do you mean like a big theme park water park resort? There aren't really any like that in Slovenia. Most people here go to Italy (Lido di Jesolo, Gardaland etc) for that.

What they do have here are lots of spa hotels with a modest play pool, but main emphasis on wellness - sauna, massage etc. These are bliss for adults, but probably 2 weeks would be too much for the kids (you'd need to plan other days out).

Otherwise, the Slovene coast is amazing. Portorož has lots of resort-type all inclusive hotels and also a nice seafront.

The mountains in the north of Slovenia (around Lake Bled or Lake Bohinj) are superb for family holidays with kids, lots to do.

Easter/May can be very nice weather... obviously varies, but usually upwards of 20 degrees on the coast, slightly less up in the mountains. from June onwards it's usually warm enough most of the time to swim in the lakes in the mountain region.

There are several. Take a look at this page, scroll to about half way down for the best aqua resorts. www.slovenia.info/en/things-to-do/spas-and-health-resorts/aquafun-and-thermal-water-parks
Go during the six week summer holiday. In May, the days might be pleasant but the evenings will be nippy.
