There's a Gullivers World in Warrington which is just down the road from Liverpool and it's suitable for young kids.

If you get the Mersey Ferry (Gerry Marsden blaring out of the speakers, yummy) to Seacombe, there is a dinky little Aquarium there - you can get inclusive tickets.

As well as the Maritime Museum there are all these .

And at Formby there are nice sand dunes and red squirrels, and it is an Encam Seaside Award beach .

Also there is Ainsdale which is a Blue Flag Beach (and they are thin on the ground up here, I can tell you!)
