Vegas Strip Hotels - Where do I start??

Sort of following on from the Vegas thread... I'm off to tie the knot in Vegas this winter. I'm looking for the best room and view for the best price on the strip. Any tips or great/bad experiences with certain hotels? Thanks Smile

We stayed at the Aria when we got married there in 2012. It was beautiful.

Bellagio with a fountain view - a classic!

SweetPeaPods · 18/06/2018 19:33

Bellagio is beautiful.
Vdara and Aria are owned by same company and also lovely.
Cosmopolitan have beautiful balconies. All in the same area centre of strip.

We stayed at the Flamingo in 2014 when we got married, really liked it and it's centre strip

DoneAdulting · 18/06/2018 19:58

Cosmopolitan with a fountain view balcony - I got married there in 2015 and we had a little party in our suite overlooking the Bellagio fountains. Here's a photo showing the view of both the Lago Bellagio and Paris hotel. When it went dark it was spectacular.

I also recommend the Mandarin Oriental.

Bellagio or The Wynn in my opinion..

Aragog · 18/06/2018 20:03

I've stayed at the Luxor, the Bellagio and the Venetian.

Luxor - some of the pyramid rooms are really big with great views, but many are just basic hotel rooms in the tower. Hotel is near the end of the strip so a bit 'out of it.' Quite cheap though.

Bellagio - nice rooms, nice bathroom. Lovely hotel and great location on the strip. You do have to pay extra for a view of the fountains, etc.

Venetian - rooms were huge, double the size f the other two at least, , with a separated sitting area down a step or two. Bathrooms also lovely and also bigger than average. Good location again. Hotel is huge though.

Mari098 · 18/06/2018 20:09

Bellagio for the location, it’s great to be in the middle of everything. Try to get a fountain view room if you can.

MsSquiz · 18/06/2018 20:19

Bellagio fountain view room, without a doubt.

We have also stayed at the Wynn Encore, but as lovely as it was, I felt like it was too far away from the centre of the strip.

This is a photo of our view from the Bellagio at night

ShiftyLookingBadger · 18/06/2018 21:37

Bellagio is sounding very popular! Thanks everyone. Adulting lovely photo!

Aragog How far was the Venetian from the action?

Aria - beautiful and modern, large rooms and beautiful bathrooms
Bellagio - decent sized room and worth paying extra for a fountain view
The Wyn - I think this is the nicest hotel in the strip, very high end
Mandalay Bay - upgraded to a suite, huge room but quite far off the beaten track

EmmaC78 · 18/06/2018 21:59

I stayed at the Bellagio last summer - loved it :)

WhiteVixen · 18/06/2018 22:05

The Venetian is towards the top end of the strip, but certainly still in the thick of it. We stayed at the Flamingo in 2009 which is a bit further towards the middle.

ShiftyLookingBadger · 18/06/2018 22:44

Has anyone stayed in the TOWER King Fountain View room as opposed to Standard King with fountain view? Is it worth the extra $60 a night?

MsSquiz Yes that looks amazing!! Thank you Smile

Thanks so much everyone. I'm sold on the view, but I'm torn as to whether I should spend extra cash on a nicer room too Wink I'm normally a sensible Sally so this is pushing it for me Grin

Any recommendations on good time to book? I want to do it ASAP but don't want to be a mug if prices will plummet in a couple of months...

I got married at Caesars Palace in 2013...lovely hotel and right in the middle of the strip. We stayed in the honeymoon suite... which was gorgeous and bigger than our house Grin

Oopsmeagain · 18/06/2018 23:24

Another view from Bellagio fountain view room.

We got a good deal with BA getting hotel and flights together, was a lot cheaper than flights alone!!

To be honest most central strip hotels are decent if you don’t want to break a budget. I would avoid going up as far as circus circus though and def not to stratosphere as it is quite dodgy up that end.

Have fun planning!

That was a standard fountain view king room. Room 26024 to be precise, so 26th floor.

ShiftyLookingBadger · 19/06/2018 16:30

I've booked a Fountain View King Room at the Bellagio!!! Thanks SO much everyone. I'm insanely excited Grin

Fairly central compared to many. About 1 or 2 hotels down from he Bellagio, on opposite side.

Yogagirl123 · 19/06/2018 18:08

No advice, but it sounds amazing, many congrats OP, enjoy Flowers

Defender90 · 19/06/2018 18:11

Bellagio is wonderful, we stayed and got married in a suite overlooking the fountains.

There's a FB game called MyVEGAS, you play games (free) and get chips and can swap them for meals / rooms / activities when you are out there.

Limpopobongo · 19/06/2018 18:34

Bellagio, highish floor, partial or pref full fountain view. The Bellagio buffet is, in my opinion, the best on the strip.

Oopsmeagain · 19/06/2018 18:39

Yes Defender90 is right, myvegas has several games you can play which earn 'loyalty points' which you can exchange for stuff.

I only played them when i was bored and got an account in my name and in DH's name. It took several months (but time I would have played other games so not an extra effort) but I got us two free buffets at the Bellagio, 2 free buffets at the Mirage, $50 voucher for Duelling Pianos bar in New York New York and another voucher we didn't end up using.

I think there is a fb group called Las Vegas Fans UK which I found really helpful.

Am excited for you, have fun!!
