Italy holiday 2019 for family of 5

Hi,

Does anyone have any ideas for reasonably priced holidays for a family of 5 or 6? We have 3 DCs who will be 10, 4 and 3 summer next year.

We've never been to Italy before and would love to go. We have gone to Eurocamps the last 2 years, and we fancy a bit of a change. I do like that kind of set up, though, where there's plenty to do for the kids and you come and go as you please.

Thanks!

Check out Agritourismo...farm stays which can be super value..you might need to book 2 rooms though. Some have apartments

Camping Fabulous on the outskirts of Rome. We went in August, and for a week, it came to approx £250. It was the flights that were expensive. The mobile home was lovely and there was loads to do in the camp.

We Airbnb'd an apartment in Ostia lido literally overlooking the beach and about 5 min walk to the train station (30 min train to central Rome).

Agriturismo definitely. We stayed in one in Sicily, it had a restaurant, beach, playground, pool and a lovely orange grove. You really need to hire a car in Sicily though.

Lake Garda, you can choose form the mountainous hills, lakes, small villages, farms, vineyards.
There's so much for the kids and adults to do, especially if you are an active family.
Expensive though, we are going this year and we've saved for about 2 years.

Agritorismo and Airbnb. We've been to Italy for the last 2 summers.

Get cheap flights to Milan (Malpensa or Bergamo which is actually beautiful & worthy of a couple of nights) then drive to Lake Garda for a few nights then onto the Venetian Riviera (lots of Eurocamp type places - we stayed at Union Lido which is huge and v busy but kids loved it) where you can do day trips into Venice which we loved!

The year after we hired a car again and did agritourismos around Tuscany - went into Florence & San Gimigano. Beautiful.

It is expensive though for accommodation in school holidays- but it can be set off with cheapo flights!
