Hi,
Just wanted to check something about my 18yr old son’s first boys holiday Hmm
He’s allergic to nuts and has an epi-pen. Organising his travel insurance and I’ve obviously declared it, I’ve also emailed the airline about his epi-pen
Is there anything else I need to do?
Apart from be sedated for the week he’s away!!!!!
Thanks

Make sure all his friends know about his allergy and that they know how to use the pen. also he needs to carry either a card or something similar in the language that he is travelling to, to say what his allergy is and what to do.

like everybody else, his insurance will be invalid if he gets stupidly drunk. Before the mn absolutes brigade start whining, that doesnt mean fruit juice for a week, it means not being a dickhead.

I took an 18 year old with a nut allergy on holiday once. A friend of DC.
There is some useful advice on here.
There are various cards you can print off or word your own.
The difficulty I found was that she seemed to be shy of asking questions in restaurants and I felt she didn't take it seriously enough.
In the end she basically ate pizza for a week.
I don't know your DS but is there a chance he may play it down a bit Is there anyway you can speak to his friends so you can spell out the seriousness of the allergy?
Copy of his prescription
Spare epi pen - in hand luggage.
Upload all travel insurance and medical stuff to Google Drive or similar so it can be accessed without the paperwork in an emergency.
