Budget airlines

Having just flown with Jet2 to Madeira and back we were quite impressed and will be using them again. Good service as budget airlines go, and they're obviously trusted on Madeira's 'aircraft carrier' airport. Except their slightly irritating jingle which sounds ripped off a Floyd(?) song, but once you're buckled up you get a decent service. Used Easyjet in the past and would still do so, Ryanair avoid like the plague.

Did you like Madeira? I'm looking at it for September.

Never flown jet 2 but have Easyjet several times and never any problems- until our hols in France earlier this month. Atc strike meant they cancelled our flight home and although they eventually rebooked us to fly from a different airport home 2 days later there was absolutely no assistance in how to get there or where to stay and it cost us an arm and a leg.
The flight was dirt cheap but we ended up spending a fortune getting to Nice for the new return flight.
I do think that's the case with most of the cheap airlines, they can be fine but when things go wrong they offer no help other than a refund for your flight, distinctly unhelpful when you're in the middle of France with two young children.

Just booked a jet2 flight for our holiday in September, never flown with them before but heard great things from friends.

I like Ryanair. Flown with them 50+ times and never had a problem. Have you actually used them?

I’ve flown with jet2, Ryanair and easyJet multiple times (probably more than 15 times with each) and they’re all much of a muchness IMO.

Am going on our third Jet2 holiday in a few weeks. Their customer service is excellent.
