Holiday Abroad with a 3 Month Old (on my own).

Hi Everyone,

I’m considering taking my 3 month old on a short holiday (we’re talking 5 nights maximum) to Spain (from UK) but will be doing this on my own...

My partner will be away with work for two weeks and he is totally against taking a baby abroad so he wouldn’t go anyway.

Has anyone done this before and if so what was it like? Or am I totally mad for even considering this?!

Would also consider a UK trip but not sure where to go... any ideas?

Thanks x

It is the easiest time to go. Breast or bootle, your DC is on milk, no worries about puree or what food he could eat. Spain or Uk holiday makes no difference for him. Go for Spain, people are lovely and helpful, you can breastfeed wherever you want , food is lovely, sun is shinning . Lovely walks, him sleeping in his pram in the shade of a palm and you on a sunny bench or by a pool with a nice book.

It sounds like a lovely idea.
Where do you want to go?
Nowhere too hot.
Will you need a cot? If so accommodation which provides one will save you lugging a travel cot.
We first took DS to visit PILs in Spain when he was 5 months old. It was sooo easy in comparison to the toddler years.

Agree it's much easier to go on a holiday abroad when the baby is still not walking. After that they want to move around, try everything, it's way more difficult
we did go to Italy many times when my younger one was up to 6 months old, preferred more peaceful cities next to sea or mountain, where you don't need a car to move around, visit the beach, go to cafes, etc. Been also on my own, it's OK too, the only difficulty was getting to the hotel with lots of luggage but I learnt my lesson and took less luggage next time, bought some things when we arrived
just avoid busy cities and you will have an amazing time I think!

Thanks for all your replies ladies. I’m thinking of Spain.. it’s a short flight, warm but not unbearably hot. Walks along the beach sounds lovely right now! Different scenery too.

Just need to get DS’ passport sorted....
