Insurance being away for 2 month

I have just found out that I am pregnant around 8 weeks, (big surprise)

I am going to USA for 2 month to work on a summer camp and the midwife has advised that I will need to see a professional ( midwife) whilst out there twice.

Does travel insurance cover the cost of these appointments and if so who is best to go with?

If not what else can I do as I can imagine it is pretty expensive !

there is no best, you'll have to shop around. As this is a working trip and you will be pregnant, normal travel policies won't touch you. You want the WorldNomads one or similar. Do not even think of a standard policy, especially not for the USA.

as far as I know bog standard travel insurance will not cover routine medical appointments for pregnancy. you are going to need to look into proper health cover and also let your travel insurer know the length of your stay. It is not going to be in the least bit cheap and you might want to have a chat with your employer to see if they have a health care scheme for their employees that you can tag into.

make sure you take a full copy of your notes with you. also make sure that your employer is happy to take you now that your circumstances are changed. American employment laws are not the same as the ones in the UK. are you expected to by physically active during your 2 months? if so you might want to think carefully about how tired you are going to be and have a plan B if it proves to be a difficult pregnancy.
