Ryanair check in and hold luggage

I have googled but can't find an answer. My DD and her friends are flying with Ryanair later this month and are proposing to put one suitcase in the hold between them (for shoes, sun cream, shampoo etc)

They have pre-booked seats so they can do online check-in now. Can they add the case at a leter date or does it have to be added when checking in?

I've certainly seen a rule that once checked in, you can't add luggage, but that was probably with jet2 not Ryanair. Does the Ryanair website explain their rules?

If they have prebooked seats, there's no rush to check in, they just have to do it before they leave for the airport obviously.

The suggestion of taking one hold case between them is a good one, always seems worth it to me unless you are only going for 2/3 days.

Too many people seem very adverse to this, but then you end up having to trawl round for toiletries on holiday and you can't bring them back, and things like suncream can be much more expensive abroad - I usually get the £3 a bottle supermarket own brand versions, whereas it can be 15-20 euros in Europe plus DP is a large sweaty man and wears 2 sets of clothes a day on holiday.

You'll need to do it before you check in to do it online. You'd be able to do it with the staff at the airport desk after they've checked in; but you'd pay airport fees.

"Does the Ryanair website explain their rules?"

No, I checked on Ryanair's website and had a good google before posting on here. I know lots of posters have travelled with Ryanair before so I thought someone might know.

Thanks for replying anyway.

They should add the case ASAP as it only gets more expensive the closer you get to travelling

Cross posted with you Anchor. Thank you.

Go to the manage my booking part of website where you do check in. You can add hold bags there. Be careful to add one for each direction of travel not two bags for one way.
For about 80.00 you should be able to do add on easily
