Majorca in October half term?

I have found a really good offer for Majorca in October half term? Have you ever been at that time of the year? Will it be warm?
We can't really afford the Canary Islands but can you suggest somewhere else affordable that will still be warm?

Has anyone been to the Majorca/Menorca in October half term?

I’m going from the 11th - 16th October so just before half term. It’s still supposed to be in the 20s

Went to Ibiza last October so nearby, it was mid-20s but apparently unseasonably warm, so maybe early 20s more usually?

We went to Majorca in April one year so I think similar weather. It was cold in the evenings and we wore cardigans and stayed in the indoor entertainment area at the hotel drinking hot chocolate most nights. Local restaurants had their doors shut and heaters on. The pool was too cold to go in so our indoor heated pool was a godsend. During the day weather was lovely and could sunbathe and go about in shorts and vests etc. We didn't get any rain. We always go in April/may or October so I don't mind the conditions then.

It was too chilly for me - I needed jeans and tshirt during the day and warm clothes at night.

Certainly not warm enough for sitting out in swimwear or going in the pool.

I've had a cold wet week in Majorca in early October. It's possible it might be warm but not guaranteed.
I wouldn't risk it. Canaries are more expensive because they are all year round resorts and you are pretty much guaranteed hot sunshine in October.

We have a flat in Majorca and we don't bother going in Oct half term. Our half term always falls the last week, often going over into the first few days of nov and it's just too cold. You couldn't sit on the beach. Also, it's the end of season and we're often left with just a couple of places to eat or visit.

ValyrianSteelChastityBelt · 05/06/2018 17:57

*the very end of season is usually around 2-4 of nov so many places start shutting in the week running up to it. Either that or not having a fraction of the stuff on the menus etc. It can be frustrating.

We went last Oct half term and it was lovely! Not hot but definitely warmer than a British Summer. Lots of people at the beach and pool, comfortable in swimwear but the outdoor pool was too cold for us. Sea was fine though. We had a total bargain break and loved it. If we weren't moving in the next few months we'd be booking again.

Ok thank you. I've changed my search to the Canary Islands now. Do you have any recommendations for nice resorts?

How old are DC as my recommendations for Canaries would depend on what you want from a holiday.

We also went last year in Oct half term & had great weather. Took a while to warm up in the mornings but properly hot by midday. Sea was warm enough to swim in though the outdoor pools were chilly.
