Hi I'm going to be in Barcelona for a few days next week and will have a few hours free between meetings. Can you tell me where the best place to go to a few shops would be. I understand the choice at Zara, Mango, Massimo Dutti etc are better in Spain than here so ideally somewhere with that sort of shop and pretty grouped together given that I'll be on a schedule Grin.

The streets immediately surrounding Placa de Catalunya have each of the brands you mentioned, plus many others. Placa de Catalunya is a tree-lined sculpture-filled square with some nice coffee shops and places to sit down if you have a bit of spare time.

Barcelona is great for shopping, there are loads of Mangos and Zaras. But... Sagrada Familia, Casa Mila and all the other Gaudi stuff, the beach / marina, all the plazas, the Ramblas, sitting watching the world go by with fresh churros. So much more interesting stuff to see and do.
