We have a week in early October free (annoyingly, no chance of going away before then). We were originally hoping for a beach holiday maybe somewhere like Portugal but am now not sure where would be wise in terms of the weather.
3 year old is transport obsessed but has never flown before, nor had a beach holiday, and is a bit of a stick in the mud so will either love a pool/beach holiday or be a total PITA for the first day or two until he gets used to it.
I can't decide whether we should try for a beach week, in which case I'm guessing we'd have to focus on places like Crete and Cyprus, or whether we should do something different, like maybe Copenhagen and Stockholm, taking the train in between?
We want somewhere easy and child-friendly, we don't want to have to drive or hire a car, and we'd prefer a flight under three hours (but realise that would rule out Crete).
Any thoughts?
