Following on from alternative to DLP and the best kept secret that is "E".

Any recommendations on how long to go for and must see/do and most especially where to stay with dc 3,5,8?

Will fly into Amsterdam and hire a car and spend roughly a week around.

Spend two whole days at Efteling.
The Efteling provides several options for accommodations, from castle-like hotels to log cabins in the woods. It's worth staying on sight for at least one night because the park is really magical in the evening. I depends on whether you want self-catering or not, but I can really recommend Borsijk for stays with small children.
Nearby, (20km away) Beekse Bergen is a really decent safari park with an amazing range of accommodation. www.beeksebergen.nl/en/stay-the-night It's well worth staying here for a few nights. You can book through Eurocamp, but are limited to Eurocamp's range of accommodation which isn't as good.
This is a really nice holiday park which is well placed for both Beekse and Efteling www.landal.com/parks/duc-de-brabant it's very reasonable considering what a good park it is, but if they're fully booked or you want something more budget, look at Ponderosa www.vacansoleil.co.uk/camping/the-netherlands/north-brabant/ulicoten/camping-ponderosa-2603010/ which is 40 mins from Efteling.

Beekse Bergen looks great. How does it compare to Centreparks?

There is a big forest v close to E with a lovely hotel which does horse riding, biking through the forest etc. Our room looked out over the stables, it was fab! Horses
