Lake Garda

Any tips on a good Eurocamp type holiday in the Lake Garda area?

Looking for recommendations for small, quiet sites with good public transport links and walking distance to a town/village. There's 4 adults and 4 kids going, ranging from age 9 to 17 (we'll be renting 2 mobile homes between us).

Anyone stayed at Camping Butterfly, Europa Silvella or Camping Piantelle? These seem to fit the bill, but I've never done a mobile home holiday so not sure what to expect!

Thanks in advance, guys.

I've never stayed at Camping Butterfly but been past it a few times - Peschiera is lovely lots of shops, restaurants etc., a boat service to other lakeside towns, a train that goes to Verona and Venice.

Thanks @Clayhead. Town sounds good, and boat trips a bonus for DH and DS. I hate boats 🤢

We've just got back from Peschiera. We love it there. Stayed at Campeggio del Garda. butterfly is next door. So much to do there but my kids just want to jump into the lake off the pier all day long!
It's a lovely little town with great places to eat. Verona isn't too far either.

The mobile homes where we stayed were very new and clean. Would definitely recommend.

Oh thank you @headfullofdreams! Jumping of the pier sounds like fun - I'll be doing that, let alone the kids!

@headfullofdreams - Campeggio del Garda looks lovely - who did you book it through?

We’re just back from Europa Silvella. Whilst we loved it I don’t think it would work for you if you won’t have a car - Manerba is walking distance and it’s a pleasant walk along the shore but it’s more of a village than a town, you would need a car to get to Salo to catch a ferry to other towns on the lake really.

We loved the private beach (with pier!), and the pool area is nice. We were with Al Fresco, our mobile home was clean and modern and the reps were really helpful when we had an issue with noisy neighbours. Venue and VacanSoleil were also onsite, and Canvas as well I think, or you could book direct with the site. We were right at the top of the site so no lake views but it wasn’t a long walk to get to the water.

We visited Malescine for the cable car (which was amazing), Verona and several towns on the lake itself. We used the car ferry once but the ferries aren’t cheap so generally drove between places.

Enjoy whatever you decide, it’s such a beautiful place Smile

Thanks for the tips @SisterFrancisBeaverhausen!

I'm so excited now!

Sorry fedup, only just seen your question. We booked direct with the campsite as we found that the cheapest way. If you google campeggio del Garda it should come up.

We reallly do love it there, hope you do too!

We hired bikes too and cycled along the river, it's traffic free and quite a wide path.
