Travel ‘beds’?! Help!

Hi! We are travelling with young kids 11 months and 3.5 years longhaul in about a week. We have travelled lots with them but wanted to ask if anyone had any suggestions or experience using the kids beds (I’ve seen ones with inflatable pillows or fold out ones that you hook onto the seat). Just trying to test them out during our day flight rather than the overnight leg that we will do in a few months time. Any advice is welcome!!

Which airline and what routings?. I would check with them first before making any such purchases.

Your 3.5 year old should have his/her own seat to sit in. Have you checked what the airline will provide for your youngest child?.

Some such beds particularly the fold out kids type ones are banned by some airlines due to safety reasons.

I have the 1st class kids inflatable ones and they are brill but not all of the airlines allow them. Not having a child flopping onto me is a win !

Thanks I didn’t realise that some airlines don’t allow them. We are flying BA, I’ll give them a call to check it out. The younger one gets a bassinet but honestly he’s giant and I’m not sure he would be happy for long in there and the older one can’t manage to sleep upright. We have had many flights where this has been a problem after he turned 2 and had to have his own seat!

We have an inflatable travel pillow. It doesn't connect to any other seat (part of the problem with some contraptions) and was life changing on our last longhaul.
