We are going to the Dominican Republic in June with a 5 & 3 yo. We want to explore the country a bit and not just stay in the hotel.

Anyone been and can recommend excursions suitable for a family with small children? We are staying at sensatori Punta Cana.

The monster truck safari, horse back riding through the country, catamaran rides (take seasick tablets)....

Don't get hair braided and wear hats because sunstroke is no fun with children!

Thanks so much. Have spent hours on the internet looking so far. Any recommendations for tour guides?

It was a few years ago I last went there but most of the islands do the same type of trips. Are you going with a major travel company? They'll likely ask you to come to a welcome meeting the next day at 9am and sell you trips there... a little pricer than if you organised yourself but safer with kids imo

Yes we re going with Tui. Hadn't thought of that. Guess they would do that, thanks.

Was hoping to be organised and book some before we go. Going end of June.

Pack a few layers and some clothing that dries quickly as it is traditionally hurricane season in June which means you may get some flash flooding at times (although it'll still be hit which is weird!)
