Driving from England means we don’t have a hire a car when we get there or take flight and drive from Paris . Any one done this journey what do you prefer or what is better and what advise would you give . Thanks

Why would you fly to Paris and hire a car there? Surely easier to fly to an airport actually near the alps like Geneva or whatever is closest to your final destination and hire your car there or get a bus transfer. Or drive from England if it’s convenient to have your own car/not have to deal with airline baggage allowances. But going to Paris seems nonsensical, unless there’s a specific reason you haven’t mentioned.

When we went to the French Alps last summer we flew to Geneva and hired a car. Car hire was a bit pricey but driving was very easy
