Sun tan lotion

Can anyone advise on what is the best sun tan lotion to use. Going to Lanzarote in the summer and need something good.

We use Ultrasun and never burn with it. It's 'once a day' but we generally top up during the day.

We use the p20 stuff. It does factor 20, 30 and 50 and is once a day. We are a family of milk bottle white Scots and it works for us!

I 2nd Ultrasun. We use the sports gel. Available in different spfs. IFSOGO website has the best prices at the moment, as I've just bought some.

The once a day stuff sounds very faffy, is extortionately expensive and stains everything in sight. I once asked a friend about it and she hadn't even got halfway through telling me about the application process before I decided it wasn't for me.

Honestly, the best suncream is supermarket own brand, apply generously and cover up or stay in the shade around mid day. Offers better protection than many of the big brands that cost 2 or 3 times as much and because it is cheap, people worry less about how much it is costing to slap it on - most people don't use anywhere near enough.

Faffy? Faffing is having reapply sun cream every 2 hours, a total faff when you are out and about. The application process is the same as normal suncream. Ultrasun stains less than other brands, believe me.

@Justmuddlingalong, we use the sports gel too. I just bought 400ml sports gel, 30 sfp for a great price on the gorgeousshop site.
