Anyone used Expedia?

How trustworthy are they? I've been looking at a trip to NYC. If I look at Virgin Atlantic direct the return flight alone is almost £1,300 but if I book a whole package on Expedia the EXACT SAME flight along with the hotel and shuttle is less than £900. What's the catch?

Expedia are fine and ATOL protected. Don't forget to go through QUIDCO for 11% cashback too. I've made hundreds from Expedia.

They are great. We’ve used it loads of times and perfectly trustworthy just like any travel agents.

PasstheStarmix · 13/05/2018 21:51

There is no catch. You’re simple cutting out the middle man (the greedy estate agent.)

Expedia are fine unless something goes wrong, then they're useless. I have booked with them before, but always in the knowledge that if something is wrong they'll take forever to sort it. Luckily it never has!

I've used them a few times, and have found them great.
The last time, we had personal problems, and they were absolutely great. They rearranged our flights and hotel, and always got back to me when they said they would. I was very impressed, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. The exact same trip was double the price with Kuoni.
Virgin travel are also pretty good, we're using them for our next trip, as the price was the same as expedia for that trip.
